Ready for More? Spend March Break with the Faculty of Engineering

About 3D Printing Makerspace and IDEA Lab Workshop

The University of Windsor’s Faculty of Engineering will be hosting a free workshop at our Centre for Engineering Innovation (CEI) building on Tuesday, March 17th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. for Grade 11&12 high school students interested in learning about 3D printing and design modelling using Fusion 360 software. No previous experience is needed to participate.

During the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to see how their digital design translates into a physical object through 3D printing. They will design the shape of a keychain in Fusion 360 and see an object being 3D printed in real time, as well learning all about the innovations in this area happening through the 3D Printing Makerspace and IDEA labs, highlighting how these spaces support creativity, hands-on learning, and engineering-focused projects.

Although the workshop is free, participants will have the option to 3D print their design and laser engrave their name on the back and take it home as a souvenir of the day for a cost of $5 per participant – this is to cover the costs for the materials that will be used to print their designs (please note cash and credit are accepted only – no debit is available).

As part of the day, participants will also visit and gather information about UWindsor Engineering programs at Engineering Program Information Day, which is happening in the main atrium of CEI during the day from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Spaces are limited for the 3D Printing Workshop, so if you are interested, please register ASAP to ensure your spot!
